    I have some routers with 4MB flash. They're about 6 years old and work fine for what I use them for. Not a bad deal so long as you don't have your heart set on features that won't fit in that flash. It's fast. Seems like the issue would be someone who didn't understand this and only found out later they couldn't load a feature rich build they want. Say for example, you have an RT-N16 and wanted to add some fast wired ports in a remote location of your house that doesn't wiring, this would be perfect. Or if you wanted a good basic router for a relative that won't use the extra features anyway.
