Running a RV-082 with the 1.3.5 firmware. Runs fine but I get an occasional reboot. This has been happening for over a year using different firmwares. It doesn't happen often enough to be a problem but it happens. It also seems to maybe come in spurts. For instance it has rebooted for me here several times in the last month or so. Before that it might go months without a reboot. I don't think it's a heat issue since even in the cooler months it happens and it's not enclosed.

I'm trying to maybe narrow it down to some router setting or could it be as simple as a voltage issue or maybe even just a flaky router that I have to live with. As I say it doesn't happen often enough to really make any serious troubleshooting easy.

No real cosmic settings being used in the router. No VPN, a few forwarded ports, UPnP enabled.

Looking for any ideas! About the only thing I can think to try is running it off of more stable power and see if that helps.

I prefer to plug the ones I setup for clients into smaller APC battery backup units...clean even power...seem to always have less issues with routers and broadband modems when I do that.

Disable UPnP... That's what causes the reboots (on mine), MSN, Skype, utorrent, hamachi - open 100s of ports and finally it crashes. At some point it becomes so unstable that it can't last for 1 hour. Firmware 1.3.6
