RV016 Firmware v2.0.20 Release Note 9/15/2007 (beta testing)

    Issues Fixed:

    1. Fixed an IPSec NAT-T issue that the main mode initiator does not change UDP port to 4500 in the 5th packet as required by RFC 3947.
    2. Fixed an issue with QuickVPN Client showing incorrect tunnel status. RV082 will present its LAN IP to QuickVPN Client so the Client can use it to detect whether the tunnel is truly established by ICMP ping.
    3. Fixed a problem that users in the LAN cannot access a non-standard FTP service, e.g.
    4. Fixed a problem that occasionally users in the LAN cannot completely download a large file from the internet using PPPoE DSL.
    5. Fixed an issue with the VPN Client Access page where new users cannot be added if some users are already defined.
    6. Fixed an issue that router password cannot contain % sign.

Please contact Linksys Technical Support for this version of firmware.

    Backup VPN?

I now have an RV016 but already miss the backup VPN ability of the RV082. Since I can't make a second VPN with the same subnet (pet peeve about the RVs) I now can't do a backup VPN like I can with the 82. The VPN tunnel is tied to a specific WAN so the normal failover function doesn't help.

    Bandwidth Management on additional subnet

Is it now possible to manage the bandwidth of additional IP subnets? I'm currently using RV016 v2.0.18 firmware and bandwidth management is only possible on the primary IP subnet.

Using Rate Control and Priority simultaneously

Is it possible to mix and use the 2 Bandwidth Management Type at the same time. Like say LAN IPs to 10 will have high priority on dns and http ports and this ip range will be assigned a minimum of 128kbps upload and a maximum of 512kbps download bandwidth.

My RV016 resets by itself at least twice a day on both firmwares 2.0.10 and 2.0.17. After using RV016 for 1 year I finally found out the problem which I think is a bug in the firmware.

I operate a Cyber Cafe with 70 computers. The setting in the router which causes this problem is UPNP whereby too many automatic entries created by the clients causing it to overflow and reset whenever additional new entries were added into the already very huge list. The problem immediately disappeared after turning UPNP feature off and my RV016 is currently up for over 60 days.

I do need this UPNP feature enabled. Linksys please do something about it, maybe removing old entries automatically or limit the list according to the router's capability and have it overwrite the oldest entry automatically.

Where can you get this version of the firmware? Their site still only lists 2.0.18 for download. Do you know if this fixes the issue on the RV016 with 2.0.18 where one-to-one NAT does not always route traffic out using the correct IP address?
