    I have this issue intermittently. I will connect to my RV042 gateway using QuickVPN client successfully. However, when I disconnect from the VPN (the client believes the action was successful), but the RV042 still thinks the user is logged in, and will not allow me to reconnect to it until the user is disconnected (which I have to do by manually logging into the RV042 web interface, selecting the user, and disconnecting the user). After that, I can once again connect from my remote client. Why doesn't the disconnection work properly all the time?

    Thank you

    Check the "wget_stop_error.txt" file in the linksys program folder after you witness this problem. Let us know if you see an error in it.

    I don't see any errors in the wget_stop_error.txt. Please find contents (personal info edited w/ XXXXX)

    --16:33:33-- https://XXX:*password*@xxx.xxx.xxx....isable?IP=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx?PASSWD=XXX?USER=XXX
    => `C://Program Files//Linksys//Linksys VPN Client//stopconn.conf'

    Then check inside the "stopconn.conf" for he status message. It should say something like "message=The ipsec connection has been terminated." If yours has the same thing, I'd be inclined to say that this particular session ended properly and you should keep monitoring these logs until you know it really didn't disconnect.

    The stopconn.conf has exactly that message

    message=The ipsec connection has been terminated.

    But I know the user hasn't disconnected. The Web Management interface of the VPN router still shows the user as connected. In addition, I cannot reconnect to the VPN router from the same machine until I disconnect the user from the Web Management interface of the VPN router.

    I'd check these things then:

    1) check the time stamp on the stopconn.conf and make sure they are being updated when expected. For all I know you could be viewing old files written long ago and it could be that you no longer have administrative priveldges to overwrite them anymore.
    2) make sure the QuickVPN username has no spaces or other charaters except alpha-numeric.
    3) do this as a last resort. Your firmware configuration may have become corrupt. revert the router back to factory settings and reconfigure everything manually. don't attempt to restore the settings from an exported backup as that will only bring the corruption back.
