Hi, I understand that the RV042 unit is configurable via telnet/ssh (BusyBox).
In case, is it possible to setup an alias to ixp0 interface?, is usable the command ifconfig ixp0:0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx for aliassing?
I must buy a router. My ISP brings me 4 static public ip address, and I want to setup a web server in each, but my provider brings only one eth cable to connect.
I really thank you for your help on this issue.

    Pardon my poor english.

Excuses me, I've a very limited english -really poor-, maybe you can't understand my question. I guess...
I'm unix systems administrator and I want to know if the RV042 model is capable of manage more than one public ip address with just one WAN active connection.
If it's not possible, I want to know which model can I use?

Without delving too deep into the guts you would use "One to One NAT". If the RV042 doesn't have that then the RV082 & RV016 has it. You would associate each additional IP to an internat IP (your servers). It works very well although not as intuitive as a straight forward IP alias. Don't forget to build a set of firewall rules for them.

if you want to run a webserver on each, connect a 4 port switch to the dmz port and connect your 3 servers to that. then set the iprange option in the dmz setup. at least that's what i did and it works just fine.

I bought for the first time linksys products (i use to buy Cisco routers but i have a small project in this case and i think that linksys can perform in this case.). I bought 2 RV082.

I need to configure 16 ip public adresses and want to "nat" connections relatively of public/port to private ip/port. Can i found a "Howto" somewhere ? Have somebody already written one ?

I found here a document whose explain how to acess to RV082 by telnet.
I need a "man" for all commands avaible in. Where can i found it ?

    Thanks for your future answer.

Thankyou a lot. I will only use 3 ip address, each mapped to an private ip address. I want to attach a server to each external ip. I guess if I can use something like forward (ip/port) rule here.

    Thanks again.
    I will buy a RV042 device.
