This is frustrating. I'm not having any trouble configuring all of the functions that the RV042 can handle, but there seems to be no good solution for what I need of this device.

I need a VPN client that autostarts a VPN connection on boot, this rules out the Linksys QuickVPN Utility (which works fine, but requires user intervention.) My next approuch was a PPTP connection, which again, worked out well, but unfortunatley one can only have 5 PPTP connections even after upgrading to the 50 QuickVPN license.

My third and final approuch, was TheGreenBow VPN client, which worked out well, provided you were not behind a router. In this day and age, very few computers are "directly" connected to the internet. When behind a router, TheGreenBow VPN client will not pass Phase 2 unless a Local WAN IP is specified. If directly connected to the internet, works out in this field. The reason I cannot specify a Local WAN IP is because it is subject to change (dynamic.) Other IPSec compliant VPN clients offered the same results.

Are there any solutions for this? Has anybody hacked around with QuickVPN to allow autostart on boot with saved credentials? Is it possible to acquire a VPN connection with this device via a dynamic local WAN IP behind your run-of-the-mill router? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If the RV042 supports NAT-T then SSH Sentinel should do what you want, provided you can find it of course ;)
