RV042 time setup ?

I can't seem to get the RV042 ( firmware) time setup to work with NTP. I've tried both an ip address and name, but neither seem to work.

I can manually set the time, but if there's a power failure or reset of the router, it defaults back to 2002.

    Does the time work?

Is the unit acting as the internet router and can see a DNS server? Can you run a ping test from Diagnostics? Time works on mine.

Yes it is the internet router. I just tested and ping and dns lookup works ok.

I just set it to time.windows.com NTP. Any suggestions for a good NTP server? If I reset the router or have a power failure should the date/time get updated afterwards? Any idea how often it re-syncronizes?

I don't know about time.windows but the "windows" part of the name makes me wonder....
You can look up a nearby public time server from lists such as http://ntp.isc.org/bin/view/Servers/WebHome
Google will bring up many such lists.
But yes, as soon as the internet is up the time will be set. Mine has always shown the proper time. You need the right time for stable VPN operation. And make sure you don't have a firewall rule to block NTP, default rules are no problem.
