Someone on Broadband reports was asking why emailing the syslog wasn't working. It worked in ver 1.1.1

I investigated and confirmed there is a bug.

Okay, I enabled the email syslog feature. My Wallwatcher log started going crazy!

    I was getting 25 of these inbound events a second "rv082 syslog_nk-(system log)mail sending to joe@email.com failed !"

I disabled the email log and saved changes. No effect.
I disabled the syslog and saved changes. No effect.

I had to restart the router to get rid of inbound pounding.

So, I guess we'll have to let LINKSYS know about this glitch.

It was working fine in the last firmware.....nice!

Problem has been fixed: Thanks to lbrinley over at the dslreports site who had a similar problem and steered me in the right direction.

There was a default setting in the "domain name" field called "SME" I cleared that out, saved the changes, then enabled the syslog email alerts and saved the changes.

Problem fixed, no haywire mass events coming into the router.
