We have two RV082's, one with a static IP at the office and one at a remote site with a dynamic IP. The remote site initiates the VPN connection to the static IP site. The connection works in most respects and can stay up for days. Pings, network share browsing, database connectivity, network printers, remote desktop connection, etc, etc, all work.

What also works is transferring large numbers of small (<5MB) files.

When things fail is AFTER a large (300-600MB) file is successfully transferred. The NEXT large file fails, and all the above functionality begins failing. No successful pings from either end.

The work-around so far is to reboot the static IP RV082. The other RV082 detects the loss of connection (thanks to DPD and keep-alive) and re-establishes the VPN connection.

Additional: both RV082s are running v1.3.5 firmware.

What does the System log and VPN log say just before and then after the large-file-has-been-transferred fails begin? The logs from both ends might show something.

On both routers, no System or VPN log entries at time of failure until VPN connection re-established [Tunnel Negotiation Info].
