    Hi all

I have being trying to create a VPN between two RV082 routers (both connected via ADSL on the same UK ISP).

In normal IKE with preshared key mode the VPN always drops after a couple of minutes - no matter what I do.

However, if I configure the VPN using a keying mode of 'Manual', I get a much more stable link. It's quick to establish too, because there is no key negotiation.

Does anyone know of any security or other problems I may face when using the manual keying mode?

    Thanks in advance

    Option 1:
Download "Dr TCP" from the internet and then use it to change your MTU settings on your systems to 1350

    Option 2:
Change the MTU on your routers to "manual" and then change the MTU to 1350; you could also try changing the MTU to "auto" and then to 1350...

On the surface, it sounds like you might have an MTU issue, but try this and see if that helps...
