I have recently bought an RVL200 to replace my RV042. I needed the QOS for my Asterisk server. I connect via SIP, and wanted outbound SIP traffic to be prioritized. I cannot get it to work; i have tried everything (I believe). Has anyone got something similar to work, and if yes, how do you use traffic shaping in RVL200?

I think the easiest solution would be to give a higher priority to one particular LAN port.

But, it's a valid solution when through the high priority LAN port only VoIP communication is transmitted. Setting priorities for different protocols is a much more complicated task.

This is just food for thought... :)

If you still have your RV042, you can buy the Linksys OGV200 VOIP/Gaming adapter; I got this for my routers that didn't have VOIP and it works just as well as a router that has integrated VOIP.
