I'm trying to compare those two devices. Right now I'm using only wired LAN devices and I have an internet connection through a 100MBit WAN. So, I do not need wireless functions from WRV200. But, is the RVS4000 a better device. I could use the 1GB network in the future, as I do have just 10/100 network cards in my LAN, now. But, moving to a faster system could be a nice improvement in some cases.

The problem is, I'm using IPSec 3DES VPN connection through the WAN. The other side is equipped with another WRV200 device. This gives me a theoretical throughput of 30MBit on the VPN tunnel between two WRV200 devices. So, is the RVS4000 capable of running a VPN tunnel with the same speed as WRV200 is? I found nothing about hardware 3DES encryption acceleration in the RVS4000, while WRV200 does have such a function.

In other words: How fast is the RVS4000 with IPSec 3DES encryption?

Also, it could be good to know any particular reasons after or against the purhase of RVS4000.
