Saving Bandwith Stats to JFFS2?

I'm currently replacing my older WRT54G v1.1 to a newer WRT54GS v2 (Ram:32Mb/Flash:8Mb). I plan on saving the stats once a day via JFSS2 to the remaining flash space (4mb).

Since JFFS2 manages wear leveling itself, should there be any issue about burning out the chip too fast at that rate (considering 100 000 erase cycles/sector)? File seems to be only around 1kb.

I might also consider using the mmc.o module extracted from another firmware and wiring a salvaged 16MB MMC card, but that would mean I loose the SES button capability to control the wireless radio.

Bear in mind the available JFFS2 space is quite small, so while it does do sector balancing, there aren't very many sectors to balance across. CIFS or MMC would be much better choices.
