If this has already been addressed, please link me to the post as my searches turn up nothing useful.

All I want to do is monitor one machine on my LAN with ping (or fping?) from my Tomato (1.28/WRT54GL), and if unreachable then send an email.
I grasp that this suggests that sendmail or something needs to be running on the router to get the email out.
Monitoring will not be heavy. A ping once and hour will suffice.

I really know nothing about scripting on tomato, so need someone who does to literally spell it out for me. I did however find this link which seems like just what I need, but have NO idea how to make it work from tomato. I'd really appreciate ANY help that could be provided.

    Anyone? - fingers crossed.

    Many thanks
