hi guys, this is my first post here.
i just ordered my new 54gl from newegg today after 2 months wrestling with the Belkin Pre-N router which drops connection daily.

Can anyone tell me which 3rd party firmware is better for me which stable connection is the most important to.

    thx guys :cheer:

DD-WRT and HyperWRT seem to be the most popular. They are not the only games in town, and the beauty of it is that MOST of them are free to try out, and easy to switch to something else if you want to try something different.

DD-WRT is packed with features, and is basically a heavy rewrite of the stock firmware. I've never used it myself, but others speak highly of it.

HyperWRT focuses more on keeping the screens and code very close to stock firmware, while adding new features and fixing bugs inherent in the stock firmware. I've been using HyperWRT for months and it is solid and fast.

For your GL, the HyperWRT version you would probably want is Thibor:
