I've made a fresh installation of shibby 116 on a new ASUS RT-AC66U router. I've followed the very helpful youtube video by shibby explaining how to get the 5ghz interface to appear.

When I configure the 5ghz interface, I get a lovely list of channels when I choose either 20 or 40 MHz channel widths. They seem to work fine—if I choose them and save, I see correct settings back on the overview screen:

The problem is that I have no available channels when I select 80MHz channel width:

If I just leave it to "Auto", the changes don't seem to get saved. I see whatever I had before (40MHz, channel 48, like in the screenshot above.)

I've read every thread I could find on the subject. My region in Advanced->Wireless is set to EU.

How do I get my router configured to use 80MHz channels— and 1300mbit speeds? :)

P.S. — Apologies for the sh*tty photos-of-screen instead of screenshots—configuring the router from a computer disconnected from the internet, was the easiest way to get screencaptures.

I think the reason is that the Wireless Network Mode is set to N Only, which does not support 80 Mhz.

I tried both Auto, A, and N modes. A restricts the dropdown to 20MHz only. Auto and N both show 20/40/80. In any case I have the same issues if the mode is Auto or N, and I can't choose 80 if it's A.

Perfect, setting to "US" did the trick.
