My current setup is the majority of my network is plugged into the WRT54G (6.0 if it matters). The one system that I don't have plugged in is a xbox in another room connected to the wireless network with a WGA11B.

Normally I ftp into the xbox to transfer videos to the hard drive. I can connect to the xbox, everything seems to be fine. But the speeds I'm getting seem to be really slow. It is averaging about 400k a second, which when you are transferring a 500 meg file is a bit slow.

If I run a cable to the xbox, everything is fine and I get 6000k per second transfer using SmartFTP.

I do not have encryption enabled, but have turned on MAC filtering on the WRT54G. I have entered both the xbox and gaming adapter MAC addresses.

I don't think that it is a distance issue because I was using a friends laptop about three feet from the router and was getting comparable results.

After doing some reading on the linksys site, I adjusted a couple of the settings on the router. I don't believe that they made any difference.

    Any advice or suggestions
