I am using a WRT54G in client mode and I am trying to connect to a specific AP, but the router keeps connecting to other routers which it has better reception from. Is there any way to specify a specific router by something like MAC address?

im not pretty sure about your setup. did you say you wanted a WAP54G to work with a WRT54G? cos the WRT54G won't work as an AP to another existing AP. meaning, the WRT54G can't connect to another wireless router wirelessly. they both have to be wired if you want. but if you want a WAP54G to be able to dedicate its attention to a WRT54G, get the wireless MAC address of the WRT54G under the status page and under wireless subtab. set the WAP54G as wireless repeater and you should be good to go - also thereby extending your wireless range!
