I changed routers so I can extend my range for the signal to reach each parts of my house. I went to the SRX router but now I am picking up the neighbors on my network choices and show another as an unsecured network (which I assume is mine). I can't get my laptop to work anymore with my PC because of it. It had been working fine but the neighbor must have just bought a wireless setup.

How do I fix this so mine is secured and make mine work with my PC? I use a broadband connection (insight communications).

    Not real computer savvy.

find out what channel your neighbour is using. then make sure you use something away from his channel... ie if he is on 1 then you use 6 or 11.

to find out what one he is on, use something like netstumbler to find what channel he is on.

Also set your mode to B or G (depending on what client hardware you have) and dont use Mixed mode.

setup encryption, preferably WPA2 or WPA, if not use WEP.
