I setup a static assigned IP for a server on my lan in Tomato (1.23), the device disappears from the device list after a while, though it remains usable on the network. If I ping the router from this static IP node, it shows back up in the device list.

Is this a bug, or just the way it is?

Also, this static IP machine is a Linux server that I send my Tomato logs to, I am not sure, but will it continue sending the logs, even after this device is no longer showing in the device list?

    Don't worry about it.

For static devices, the Tomato shows the contents of its ARP cache. If the router hasn't talked to the device in the previous few minutes, it'll disappear. As you've discovered it'll reappear as soon as you ping it or otherwise talk to it again.
