Static Leases and WDS Remotes

I'm running v24rc5 on a WRT54G (v8), and for the most part things are working fine. I set up static leases for my network, and this is also working fine for the computers on my network.

But I also set up static leases for the two Airport Express base stations that connect through WDS, and for some reason these leases don't seem to be having any effect. The AEs connect and run just fine, but they draw their IP addresses out of the dynamic pool rather than using the addresses I assigned to them. Any ideas?

I assume that the AEs indeed have a DHCP client, so it could get a DHCP leased IP. If so, you probably used the wrong MAC addresses for the AEs in your DHCP table. The best way of resolving that would be to sniff the DHCP requests with tcpdump, ethereal (wireshark) or other sniffers.

Or, you might get lucky, and, once an AE has an IP (and you know what that IP is), do:

    ping IP-of-AE-in-question

    arp -a

and check the MAC address of the IP-of-AE-in-question.
