Any way to check the temperature in an Asus RT-N16 with TB-Tomato 2.6?
A thermometer ?
That is what I meant, a way to check the temperature over ssh.
Actually, I wouldn't mind adding a 'thermometer' (sensor) if I could access it and check its status remotely.
There is nothing built into the Asus RT-N16 or the Broadcom chip set. These routers are built for a price point and to add temperature sense feature would require more engineering and expense of build. Most folks don't care so there is no driving force to have this feature. There is a thread on DD-WRT about the RT-N16 where this same thing is discussed. If you did add s sensor of some kind you would need to figure out how to add the driver to the firmware image.
I know my router runs hot by holding my hand over it. Know I could add different heat sinks or a fan but have not bothered.
