    Hi guys,

it looks like this is not my week.

I tried several times today to upgrade my WRT54GS-DE to some hacked firmware.

I tried the Wifi one, the free satori one and some other firmware. I guess it was HyperWRT

The problem is, that i cant flash the gateway to any of the 3rd party firmwares. i always get "ugrade not successful"

does anyone knows of any lock in the original firmware? right now im running Firmware-Version : (DE --> Germany)

The WRT54 is still running fine but i also still have problems with poor signal strength. thats why i really want to test some other firmware to boost the xmbit

does anyone knows anything of this problem?

Have you tried rebooting the router cause the same problem (upgrade not
successful ) occured to me several times and what I did was just reboot the router.
Then I could upload a new firmware.

    It works now :)

I changed xMit Power to 84 and i got a signal. Not the best but it enough for browsing the www

Tx Rate is stable at 11 Mbps and signal is ~18-22%

Thats helps me staying motivated for the next days.

ill keep posting here my results when i got the DWL-M60AT plugged in to the WRT54
Ive seen an adaptor for TNC-->SMA for about some bucks

    Thank you

does your laptop have an internal or external wireless card? most internal cards (built in) are crap tbh.

I got Toshiba Satellite P20-303 Notebook and an external PCMCIA D-Link DWL-G650 WLAN card.

I found out that i need an TNC-->SMA Adaptor to get the DWL-M60AT connected to my router. I guess this will help to raise the signal strength a little more.

    Ill keep posting
