I had a WRT54GS v7.2 and a WRT54GL vX.XX. Thought the power requirement's were the same, found the hard way that the GL is 9v and the GS is 12v by way of putting the 12v adapter into the GL and the 9v adapter into the GS.

The GL & the 12v adapter seemed to be toast so I threw 'em out ~1yr ago. Boxed up the GS at the same time to play with another day....which has come up :)

Found a 12v 1a adapter, plugs in fine. Power LED only gets about half as bright as the LAN LED's. Don't remember what I had done to it before so either DHCP is off or it's got some kinda security or it's broke as there's no web GUI & a ping gives a TTL=100. TFTP'ing the stock firmware says is successful but nothing change's.
I tore it apart, nothing inside looks melted/wrong but if undervoltage killed it then it wouldn't look melted.

    Any idea's?

It's going on 2yrs old, maybe a bit more. Nothing of the packaging left, maybe the CD & cable though.
