Ok this is a very basic question.
The config file when saved from the GUI saves a file in (seems like) binary format.
Is there any way to export/import a config in editable text file?

If you just want to have a text file with all your settings you can go to "Administration->Debugging->Download NVRAM Dump". That file will have all your settings, but you *cannot" restore it back to the router, you can only view it.
