Yesterday for first time I realized that the is a modification of tomato that supports VPN. So I downloaded it and flashed my router. Everything is working perfect but I'm not really sure how to get VPN server to work.

I know that I have to create some keys and certificates to get it work and the tomatovpn is prompting to openVPN website for instruction.
So i tried to get the certificates in the way that is says there, so I logged in with SSH but I cannot reality find anything like that to create the certificates and the keys.

Anyone that can help me with that? Do I have to make the keys manually or to create it somewhere else?

Thx in advance for your help

You have to generate the keys on a separate computer with OpenVPN installed. The firmware doesn't include the key generation tools. This both to save space, and for security reasons.

ok I followed the guide from openVPN website made the keys... paste them in tomato(server.crt was totally empty, is that right?)...

but it doesn't seem to work...
what do I have to do more? a little bit more help would be great :D

server.crt should not have been empty. In fact, I've made the GUI such that the only fields that show up are the ones that are required based on your other settings.

You should try the certificate generation again and watch for any errors.

It took me a while to find again time to try fix the openVPN but finally l found and fixed it, the first time that I generated the certificates went something wrong... But I have one last question now that everything is working...Is it possible to make client certificates with username and password? I did some certificates just with passwords but not with a userrname...
