I'm looking to increase the range of my router without sacrificing latency or bandwidth.

So far what I've done is set it to 84mW through tomato and bought a pair of 9dbi antennas and still waiting for them to come in.

I think after installing those the router will not give a decent signal to the other side of the house. I've tried all the tweaks. Tin-foil, windsurfer, adjusting antennas at an angle, moving above metal objects, etc etc

    Any suggestions on increasing range?
Also I was curious to know..
84mW seemed to be the perfect balance for good range and good speed, but should I increase this when the new 9dbi antennas come in?

Another question I had is that 251 is the max in tomato and also DD-WRT (due to FCC regulations), but there is a way to top over this through init commands?
