    cable connection
    wrt54g router
    one main desktop
    two with with external card.

    this is the problem

connected new laptop wirelessly, close to the router
but oddly it was very low mbps
and yet signal said 'no signal'

when i took it to my room it stopped working
and my old laptop connection wasn't working either
so i've been resetting the crap out of the router to see if that's it

so at this point i've figured out
if i keep my new laptop OFF i can connect w/ old one

but once i turn on new laptop...even though there is little or no connection...
connections on other laptop is lost

    what is wrong?
    configs wrong?
    how can i check?

Are both laptops set to infrastructure mode? Or is one set to ad hoc.
