I just purchased a second wrt54g for home. I have a wrt54g that serves as wireless gateway, dhcp server etc. There are three machines (MS XP, 2000 Pro and 2003 Server) that sit behind this router for internet (adsl) access as well as dhcp. I would like to place the second router in another room and 'hardwire' or physicall connect a Linux box (Fedora Core 2) to it so that it is using the same adsl connection as all of my other machines as well as visible via ping to those machines. Is this possible? I would suspect it is but want to make sure as I struggled at it last night and am not sure if I need a firmware upgrade prior to proceeding. Thanks!

use the sveasoft firmware (its easy) and stt up wds on the first and then con.
nect that way to the second.

or you could use client mode and connect with the second router to the first that way it will work but it does take some time to configute.
