I just unbricked my WRT54GSv1 and am now playing again.

    1) Does the extra memory really do anything?

    2) If using WDS to extend range outside the house how can I tell where the notebook is connected when in the house? I'm assuming the routers coverage will overlap. The WDS router would be put by the bedroom window to extend into the backyard and garage area.

Either log into one of the radios and see if you are on the client list or run NetStumbler which will report the MAC address of the connected AP.

Thanks, I have it up and running now. I just found that.
Both notebooks are connected to the WDS router. I haven't noticed a speed difference yet |:?

As to question "2)" the v4 router has 21.8mb free the v1 has 3mb.
