I just set up my wds both are wrt54g and I'm running 1.27. The problem i am having is the Tx power if I turn them up to 84 it makes no difference on the site survey. It doesn't seem like the power upgrade is taking.

Do you have to reboot after you up the Tx power( I have done that but nothing)

I am trying to up the signal to help out old lady across the street.

Unless the old lady is amping her signal as well, it won't do any good. Adding power generally just increases the noise level - you are far better off putting hi-gain antennas on your router and hoping her wireless card has enough signal strength to reliably reach you.

I guess my question is why when I up the Tx power does it make no difference. I turned them up to 200 no signal increase, took the cover off and the transmiter isn't even gettin warm.

You should find some longer, higher gain antennas for your router at any good IT store. Depending on what your neighbor is currently using, you might find one of the many USB adapters currently being sold with an external antenna and 200mW transmitter also helps, without being too costly. You could also do a search on Google for homemade wifi antennas, there are a few tricks which don't cost anything at all and yield good results.

I read through that link. I'm new to this so i am a little confused on what I need to do. Should I go to an older version or do I need to add something to the init scrip (if i do how do i do that)
