I noticed a high load on my tomato router linked to udhcpc. Id'd say consuming itself around 10-20% of CPU

    can anybody explain?

Is it pegged at that CPU%?, or just sporadic? What happens w/ a reboot?

Might be helpful to have your hardware and build information as well.

Constant 10 to 20% usage. Running FreshTomato 2019.2 AIO on Asus RT-AC56u

I actually forced an IP renew on the WAN and it disappeared with no reboot.
It makes me think though that is was running for 1h... perhaps an issue with the ISP DHCP?

Even if there was an issue getting a response from the ISP's DHCP server, I can't imagine something as simple as the DHCP client getting pegged, and at such a high CPU utilization. What more does it have to do then periodically request an update to the DHCP lease? I wouldn't call that a demanding task.

Maybe it was just a one-time anomaly.

yes agreed that's why I posted here to see if anybody else ever experienced this.

I'll keep an eye on it!

I can't help unfortunately but, may I ask what tool produced that image and does it run under FreshTomato? Thanks.

Edit: Figured-it out. "htop" [installed via Optware] - excellent! :)
