I have some difficulties in understanding how Tomato QoS works, basically regarding inbound QoS.

To setup QoS I need to classify my traffic. The page for configuration of classifying rules is entitled "Outbound direction". But what about inbound traffic? How can I classify that? Inbound traffic is not always initiated by an outbound connection. Voip RTP streams are initiated from the outside. How can I classify them?

Is there some good documentation about Tomato QoS settings? The polarcloud FAQ and the Tomato wiki are very rudimentary regarding QoS settings.

jochen, the thread below may help you. For incoming connections unrelated to any outgoing connections, there is incoming layer 7 detection which may allow you to categorize it and apply limits and priorities in the outgoing ACKS etc.

Thank you for the great explanation in the first link!
Will read it carefully and try to build my own rules.
