I have a Linksys WRT160Nv3 running "beta11, based on build 45 of Tomato USB mod" of the nd usb mob 2.6 kernel firmware.

The issue is I have is that if I do a lot of downloads from a single computer in parallel (say ~10) of large files, I can't make any other connections (even DNS times out a lot). The downloads dont have a problem and complete correctly, just can't do anything else.

from tomato's stats it seems like I have plenty of outbound bandwidth available (it's QOS page shows it going anywhere from 12-20k during these periods with it mostly being repeated DNS requests that are failing).

I'd think I should be able to fix this with QOS tweaks, just can't figure out how. anyone have any ideas?

Hi, Qos is for upload. Your download is the problem. Search in the forum, you will find discussions about that (vegas)

Sounds like you are allowing your incoming connection to become saturated. And you are correct in assuming that using QOS can fix that. Read through the QOS thread and I am sure you'll find the answers. Basically you need to place some priorities and limits on your downloads, to allow other applications to take priority whenever necessary.
