I have a question regarding updating my tomato version 1.14 on myWrt54gl liksys router. I have been using this version for a few years now with no real probems, but I see there have been many firmware version updates since then. If I decide to update do I just have to download the most recent firmware version into a file, and then open tomato and go to admin-update and browse to find the file and click update.? If this is correct will the new firmware update change any of my security settings or Wep passwords? Im a real novice at this stuff so if these questions seem trite bare with me. I assume that updating to the newer firmware will be beneficial as far as my intermet experience, particularly my download and upload speeds and voice enabled chats.

Yes, that's the way to do it, and all your settings should remain. It's good to clear NVRam before flashing the new version.

But if you clear NVRAM, the settings re gone? No?

If you clear the NVRAM the setting will be erase and the default configuration of the router will replace it.
