    Hi guys,

I am currently using Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor15c firmware with my WRT54GSV4. I've been using this firmware for a long time now and I want to change my firmware to maybe the newest DD-WRT. The reason is because when I use uTorrent, my whole network slows down like crazy! I've heard from some people that using DD-WRT can help minimize this slowness. What are your opinions on this?

Also, I need someone to give me instructions on how to change my firmware to the DD-WRT as I have forgot the proper procedures to avoid bricking my router.

firstly. any firmware will not fix your torrents issue on its own. have you used QoS on thibors firmware? have you limited the maximum amount of connections that torrents use?

Before you start playing with new firmware try tweaking the QoS and you Bittorrent client. if you have done this already then move to ddwrt or tomato.

Yes, I've used QoS, but i'm not sure if i set it up properly, the menu is pretty confusing to me, lol. Yep, i limited the max connections that torrents use to around 300...

Ok, can somebody give me step-by-step instructions on how to upgrade to DD-WRT v23 SP2? I'm using Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor15c right now with a WRT54GS V4.0. Which file do I download from DD-WRT's website? Also, within each zip, there are a bunch of files like dd-wrt.v23_generic.bin, dd-wrt.v23_wrt54gs.bin, etc... Which one do I use?

PS. I'm really scared of bricking my router, lol.
