How can I upload an executable to the WRT56G with HyperWRT. I've tried using the wget command in BusyBox but I'm not sure if I have the correct syntax, I'm getting a "Read-only file system" message.

Ah, never mind. Works when I upload to the /tmp directory.

Can I not run executables from the /tmp directory? I've set my file to +x with chmod but it says it can't find it when I go to run it.

Whenever I try and move it I get the "Read-only file system" message again.

did you try running the command like this?
Note the "./" in front, which ask the shell to look for the executable in the current directory instead of the PATH variable.
