Im trying to do some research into setting up a WAP54g. So they way i would like it to be set up, is to run a network cable from the WRT54GS router to the WAP54g. Can this be done and the WAP54g then broadcast the signal again?

The reason i want to do this is beaause where the access point will be located there is not a strong enough signal for it to be repeated properly.

Am i talking nonsense or can this be done?

You should be able to run the cable from the WAP54G to your WRT54GS. Copper is always faster and if you can run it, all the better. I'm not familiar with the firmware setup on the WAP54g so disable the dhcp service (if it has one) and set a static IP as well.
