VLANs on WAP54GP Compatability

I am looking to get the best (and possibly worst) of both worlds at one of our sites: I want to provide our staff with wireless WPA access to our local LAN, while also offering free, unencrypted guest access to the internet only. We already offer guest access via dedicated wired jacks that make use of VLANs on our Cisco Catalyst 2950 switch.

I read that the WAP54GP access point is Multi SSID, VLAN capable. Has anyone had experience with this, and will it be compatable with the VLAN implementation on the older Cisco switch? (You'd hope it would be!)

mmm, i don't know anything about new revisions of WAP54G but the older v1 cannot use multi SSID, i think that is WRT54G what you are looking for...

    GP, not G...

Yes, I knew that about the WAP54G. This is one of the newer, Cisco-ized products, which I believe is a twin to the ruggedized outdoor model, WAP54GPE. I also know I can do VLANs with second party firmware on WRTs, but this is a corporate thing, and I just haven't been able to sell the idea of 'unofficial' firmware. But that's a good companion question: Does the Sveasoft or other firmware provide multi-SSID and VLAN support that would be compatable with the 802.1Q on the Catalyst?

    TIA Again,
