    Hi all.

I realize that there is a mod-option out there to implement a VPN server/client, but my question is this:

Is there any tutorials out there (i have been looking but couldnt' finde any)explaining how to manually install VPN in Tomato so that VPN can be used with the latest builds and you don't have to wait for an "official" mod?

The posibility of setting up a VPN server is the only thing i'm missing from and i used to have in DD-WRT ... Other than that Tomato obviously is faaar superior

    Thanks a lot in advance,

well the only way you can do that is by compiling the firmware from sources(adding openvpn in of cause) since tomato doesn't support ipkg.

Since roadkill's already on that, i wouldn't duplicate his effort (=

In principle, if you can get uC OpenVPN package, you could install it on an SMB/CIFS share, then mount that share on Tomato, and run OpenVPN from there (no matter what version of Tomato....).

I run kismet like that, but kismet is a simple package, while OpenVPN needs several libraries, etc.

There is already a mod created by Roadkill:
I am using it since March 2008. I moved from DD-WRT due to lack of stability of the firmware. Now, the same Linksys with Tomato with OpenVPN, has an uptime of 50 days!
I used the DD-WRT wiki how to pages to configure the OpenVPN part. Over 90% of the configuration created under DD-WRT for OpenVPN can be reused on Tomato OpenVPN config files. There are minor differences, all can be found in above thread.
