I have 2 location each has a RV042 connected via a VPN over DSL. I have manually set the MTU to 1492. I having an issue were the tunnel is dropping and reconnecting about every couple of minutes. Any ideas on what I can check?

Did you visit the Advanced page to set Keep-Alive? (compression is nice too)

MTU at 1492, is that a DSL line?

I recently just figured out how to VPN 2 RV042's... I had to set the local security group to IP address instead of subnet. I am only using DPD and netbios in the advanced options and I am 3DES/SHA1 encryption. I'm not sure about the MTU I have both RV042 set to the same MTU (1450).

    Hope that helps...

    is "keep alive" enabled?

Keep-Alive: This mechanism helps to keep up the connection of IPSec tunnels. Whenever a connection is dropped and detected, it will be re-established immediately.

you could also try setting both life times to 28800
