Running a WRV200 router. I can connect with 2 different XP Home SP2 machines without any isssues. It will not let me connect with the Vista machine however. Obviously the connection is set up right or XP would not work. I am running the latest 'QuickVPN'. I read the 'sticky' about windows firewall having to be enabled, but i tried that and still no luck. Both OS have the same virus/firewall software and even though it worked under XP i still tried it disabled under vista and no luck. I tried every combo (on/off) with my virus/firewall software, windows defender, and windows firewall and still it hangs on 'verifying network'! Any thoughts or suggestions?

I'm sure I wont be the only one to tell you this, but even though your Linksys VPN product may be labeled "Vista Compatible" or "Vista Certified" Linksys has yet to successfully create a version of QuickVPN that works well behind a NAT'ed solution.

    Are you behind a NAT?

is you firewall in vista enabled? you need this for any IPSec VPN to work, IPSec is bound to the firewall in vista.

I have just spent many hours attempting to get this work; have tried the quickvpn 1.2.8 and WRV200 1.0.37 code. The end result I got from linksys is it not going to work due to a known issue (or feature) with Microsoft.

the fix is a direct connection to the internet or using PPTP or L2TP.
Has anyone found another vpn client that doesn't use microsoft's ipsec code that works?

I am having the exact same problem. My XP box sitting behind a small Nat router ,befsx41, works fine when connect to a WRV54G router using the Quick VPN client. I jst got a vista box and installed quickvpn 1.2.8 and with no luck. It hangs at verifying network. I updated all of the firmware for the routers in question. What the hell?????? Am I just out of luck
