    Wrv54g Users,

For months now I've struggled getting a vpn connection through my wv54g vpn router. There were so many times I wanted to throw in the towel and purchase another router. I've read through the horror stories of other people's frustrations and giving up on the wrv54g router.

VPN is a reality now for me and I'm going to share my settings that have given me a solid vpn connection. I'm able to explore my lan, vnc, through vpn connection.

I do appreciate for all those who've helped me along the way and those who didn't..

    Here's my setup:
Laptop: WindowsXP Pro with SP2 - Firewall turned off - Using Greenbow VPN Client

    Router: Wrv54g VPN Firemware 2.37

Home Lan: Running WindowsXP Pro and Windows2000 with SP2 and current security updates.
    I've 9 tcp/ip devices which includes 6 pc's, 1 pocket pc, 1 voip, 1 print server.

I've included screen shots of my router and the greenbow client. This will make it easier
for anyone who starts off with vpn. My suggestions and tips are as followed:

    1. Be patient!
    2. Don't waste your time with linksys quickvpn. Use the
    greenbow vpn client. »www.thegreenbow.com/vpn.html
    3. Don't contact linksys for tech support
    4. Read the forums at these sites for this router:
    www.linksysinfo.org/index.php -
    5. Do all your testing on a dialup or with anyone friend

I hope this will help with your vpn setup with the wrv54g linksys router. Feel
free to email if you've any questions.

    Thank You,

    The Voice Of Silence
