    Hi guys, same here.
I know that my cable have a lot of noise (my downstream margin is about 8-10db)
But when some extra noise happens I got a value of about 2xxxxxxxxx and the router begins to became unstable with multiple and continous disconn/reconnections; unpluging cable (or resetting the router) solves this.

I can accept that my line can go down once or twice per day, but router shouldn't became so unstable in connection.
Maybe a bug in the firmware?

I tried to fix this by loading firmwares 1.00.09, 1.01.04 and 1.01.06
    None of those helped.
Randomly the Downstream Margin goes to 2xxxxxxxxx and/or Downstream/Upstream Rates go to 0: after that the only solution is reboot or unplug and replug the phone cable.

It would be nice to add a check: when Downstream margin goes over 10000 (let's say) or when downstream rate goes to 0, then re-training the line parameters.

I'd do by myself, but i don't know how to modify and recompile the sources :frown: , but maybe in some future official release it can be done by Linksys itself

Hope in a near solution of this, since this issue makes the router almost useless for some applications (VoIp or remote management, for instance)

    Bye, Mind

PS: I'm available for some beta-testing if needed :D

I have the same problem with the disconnect and no auto-reconnect.
I have tried the 1.00.09 and 1.01.06 firmware and none of them solve this issue.
The issue is when a have an call-phone in entrance the modem disconnect and the noise margin fall to 2xxxxxxxdB but the status led stay green .

For me the best way is to decide to reboot automaticaly if the noise margin fall under 2 or 3dB....but i'm not able to do this (to hard for me !!)

May be WoytekM can do it for us !

    Thanks ofr your help

    Problem solved !!!
I sent back the router to my ISP and they sent me another router (of **another** brand).
Works like a charm now. :halo:

I think it's the only choice for those who have disconnections problems

If you want to download a lot and like a speedy experience I recommend you forthnet and my firmware. I'm not too sure about forthnet, because I haven't tried it now (I have a WRTGL54 now). If you want more features and a lot of support (woytek seems to be a nice guy) then try woytekm OpenWag. Anyway all of them are FREE(!), you can even get the sourcecode and start your own experiment. So, there is not too much risk :hearts:

I'm wit B internet and I get disconnected essentially, even though the internet light and DSL light are green, I call it no through put I have tried all the firmware’s 1.00.09 and 1.01.06 also the latest from woytek, incidentally I have 2 of these routers to eliminate a fault they both do it, the problem also seems worse when there is no activity and I come back to the computer, but it has stopped a few times when I have been using the internet.
Any ideas, would really be appreciated

Hi I will give it a go, but have you done any changes to the WAN side which may help disconnections, I do like the up time in the woytek I don’t know why the original Linksys firmware never had this.

I flashed your firmware but I'm afraid it did not solve my problem but it was worth a go, thanks for your help

Your firmware is based on 1.01.06 official that doesn't have all fixes intriduced with 1.01.09.

This is the mod fw (based on official Linksys 1.01.09) with telnet active by default (without debug link)

Could you do a diff on 1.01.09 so that I can see what they have modified?

You can see the changes directly on Linksys web site.

I've Dl'd your link and the changelog only refers to the standard 1.01.09 version.
I already use this version and my WAG200G (ADSL2+) freezes frequently.

Does the FW in your link address this problem?

Try my version of the WAG200G. Perhaps it could help you!

Please always refer that your fw is based on 1.01.06 base and doesn't have all changes about 1.01.09

I'm using the 1.01.09 telent mod for a long without freezing.
I had this problem with Linksys WAg54GS. The problem was the power supply. I replaced it (12V 1A) with the power supply of a scanner (12V 1.2A) e the problem disappera.

Also now it's available the Openwag200 0.10 firmware (based on 1.01.09)
