Last week I bought a WAG200G and after some trouble in the beginning I had it up and running.

Today I experienced the problem that my PPPoE connection would drop (internet light red) and only re-establish by a hard reset of the WAG200G and my computer.

I found out that the problem happens with my Torrent program running. Currently I'm trying to download Ubuntu and I reached speeds of about 50 kb/s with quite some connections open. The problem would happen about 1,5 / 2 minutes after the Torrent started to download.

It occurs in Wireless as well as with cable.
Updating the firmware to 1.01.06 didn't help.

Here's an excerpt of the router's log:

Is this a problem of the router and if so, is there a way to prevent this from happening?

A few weeks later, I still have the same problem. I have not used Torrent for a while, but still my connection keeps dropping, around 10 times per day. The time before the connection is back up varies a lot, from 30 seconds to 10 minutes.

As you can imagine, this is pretty frustrating. Am I right to blame my WAG200, or could the problem also be on my ISP's side?

    internet drops

hello guys i have the same problem when using internet download manager and utorrent, the internet lamp goes red and reconnect after 20 sec. this only happens this year maybe 4 months back. i already upgrade to ver 1.01.06 (ETSI) but still the same problem. i saw in this forum the .08 but i'm not sure if this is really okay. because in the linksys website .06 is the last one dated 17 December, 2007. my device is WAG200G (EU) ver1. my question is? is this .08 is compatible with my modem. thanking you in advance for your reply. my location is here in saudi arabia. we bought another linksys wag200g with firmware .05 last week but the same problem occurs. diffrent tel line same provider.:redface::eek:

    To mannyb2000
Here in Poland 1.1.08 is working good and much more faster then previouse 1.1.06.
Firmware 1.1.05 was very bad and linksys removed it from their website after 1 month.
Please install 1.1.08 and i think it will work for U.
    Regards from Poland

thx again przem00, i already upgrade my modem to the latest ver given by you. the only thing i noticed is that, it takes more than 20 min of the power light (red) means upgrading which we should not turn the modem off. the last thing i can do is to removed the power and wish my luck if the modem will still boot. thx GOD my modem is back to normal again after power off.... now i testing torrent if my connection will not drop again... thx again guys...

I still get the same problem after updating the firmware. Connection drops after torrent is started. I'm on 1Mb/s downstream/ 383kbps upstream.

I don't have any problems running a cheap modem given by the ISP but then it's a modem.

This is kinda OT but anyone has a Newbie's Guide to setting up the wag200g as a AP only device? I'm close to giving up on this thing already.

I am having the same problem...

Does that firmware also solves the 'disconnect no auto-connect' problem too? ^^
