    Hello all,

Early today i bought a WAG354G. All happy i plugged it in, started configuring it, everything was going fine.
Then i went to the linksys firmware page and all happy i thought i'd update it to 1.01.05.
So i stop the wifi link, go plug it in lan, go to the firmware page, and put in the .bin in the browse box, then press update.
Used to my wrt54g flashes i wait and then i get worried. the bars start to go to the end and cycle back... so i wait 2 minutes, then 5 then 10... still nothing and NO network traffic at all. The router was unaccessible anymore either, i could still browse the net and all but no more
    So i restarted it....
First a quick flash on the red power led and all the lan led go green, normal.
Then flashing green power led... oh oh...
    no more answer at pinging
    impossible to tftp anything....
no more dhcp, no more wifi.. bricked....

    any idea?

i tried pressing the reset button long, turning power off while still holding it and putting power back on, but nothing... just desperation....

so im hold to any idea/solution...

Thanks for any help for a desperate man,

after a few more hours of trying, still nothing
the reset button seems to have no effect at all
    pressed long, short, nothing

    which leaves me very dubious

could it be a hardware problem maybe?
and that i showed it up by reflashing?

    thanks for any idea

I didnt know there was an update for this modem (at least not in the UK anyway!). U sure it was for the wag354g and not the wag54g?

    Re: Update?

There is an updated firmware for this router which is available from the following link :)

    ftp://ftp.biuro.fen.pl/sterowniki/Linksys/Linksys WAG354G/

DeathWolf have you tried powering the router on whilst holding the reset button in for 10 seconds? If that doesn't work then maybe try using a TFTP program to re-upload the firmware.

I faced the same problem with a WAG54G linksys adsl, wifi, routeur.
I tried to update the firmware, but after this update, my wag54g didn't work anymore.
Only the power led is in red blinking state.
No web interface, no telnet, nothing to reach this router.

    To solve this pb :
1°) Connect on computer to your linksys with ethernet cable.
2°) Try to ping the default IP address :, normaly it will work fine.
3°) Go to ftp://ftp.linksys.com/international/firmware/ and download the right firmware for you router (ex : WAG54G-FR_AnnexA_ETSI_v1.02.7_03_code.bin)
WARNING, it's necessary to download this file in binary mode.
4°) Find an TFTP client that work with password
    http://www.practicallynetworked.com/suppor...ftp_problem.htm for example.
5°) Start this tftp client, for host name enter :
    Select the right firmware file.
In password field, put de default linksys password : admin
    And press "send" button.

2 minutes later, your linksys work fine.
I hope this method help many people.

Please help me! I own a wag354g and upgraded to 1.01.05 but it changed the language to german so I tried to flash it back to 1.01.03.

I found the firmware, downgraded to 1.01.03 but since then I can't upgrade my router.

In addition, despite downgrading to 1.01.03 english, the language remains german.

    Please help me!! :( :( :( :(

    Hello papios,

Not sure it will help, but I saw somewhere that linksys firmwares have problems with long file names. You should try the following:

    1) get the 1.01.05 firmware and "tftp.exe" from linksys.

    2) rename it to code.bin (or any short name) and put in in C:\

    3) Configure your computer with fixed IP:
    IP :
    MASK :
and your NW controller in 10 mbits/s half duplex.

    3) perform a long reset (30 seconds)

    4) In a dos shell type:
    tftp -i put c:\code.bin

    5) Wait until completed. If it doesn't work, I am afraid you should send it back to Linksys...

    Good luck!
