This may be fingertrouble so bear with me.

I have a WAG54G & have tried to set it up using the quick install guide.

All connections seem ok (MicroFilter plugged into phone socket - phone lead from microfilter to router - net cable from router port 1 to PC net socket).

Type in the ip address shown in the install guide - doesn't connect.

Plug my usb modem back in (with the router still connected) & I can get to the router setup page.

Ping the router & I get a response.

Green Leds on front of router lit are - power, WLAN, (port) 1, ADSL.

    Any help appreciated.

i didn't understand how you've installed the microfilter. there shouldn't be a filter between the router and the phone socket... only between your phone and the phone socket (so that it filters the adsl signal out, to avoid interference).

anyway, you might want to do a hard reset on your unit (just press the reset button on the back of the unit for at least 10 seconds). then try accessing the configuration page again.

you problem might also be with the network configuration on your computer. check if the tcp/ip protocol is getting both an ip and the dns server automatically (if you need help with this just ask). 8)

Somehow I got it working (Could it have been something to do with the ADSL modem i'd just removed ?)

Anyway.............i've managed to get the laptop to connect to the internet via a linksys wireless card...............just struggling at the moment trying to set them up so they can both share files/printers etc.

Do I just set the main PC up for this or do I need to set the laptop up also ?
