I own a WAG54G v2 Annex A and I have a serius problem with it disconnecting all the time.

I've clearly understood that I'm not the only person that owns this router that disconnects almost every 5 mins. I wanted to ask you if any of you knows a firmware version that solves the frequent disconnect problem ?

and let me rephrase the question one more time. If you own this router and you don't have frequent disconnections what is your firmware version ?

this thing will drive me mad@!#$C!#

    I use 1.01.22 and I don't have disconnections !
My Wag is set with "G.dmt" and "Keep alive"...
    Check your "Downstream Margin" !

I have had the same problem since firmware 1.01.01.
I am taking back to the shop tomorrow. I've had enough.

Yeah, I have had similar problems with mine though it seemed just the dns capabilites go down, I can still ping an ip which is strange. It came with version 1.01.03, just upgraded to 1.01.05, we'll see if this does anything. It's a tough challenge finding the firmware, is there an ftp server somewhere? HiSpeed, where did you get your 1.01.22 version from?

Edit: sorry just noticed you are talkign about the WAG54G, I have a WAG354G, I take it they have different firmware versions?

Yes the firmware is different between the two routers.
See the WRT forum for firmware updates and stuff.

    Lo mpeimpiii,

I had the same problem with my WAG54G V2, at least if you talking about the wireless connection.
The first time I installed my wireless networkcard (Linksys WMP54GS), I installed the driver via the setupsoftware from Linksys (delivered together with the WMP54GS), via this way some other software willl be installed. After this installation I experienced the same problem as you have, it looks like you are loosing the internetconnection but it was the wireless connection I was loosing all the time.

After this I removed all drivers and software related to linksys, and installed only the driver for my WMP54GS via the manual way, so nothing else was installed.
After this I have no problems anymore with disappearing the wireless connection.

Maybe this is will help you further.

I had this problem and it turned out to be my in-house wirin

before you start blaming the router, I suggest that you disconnect everything in your house, and plug directly into the BT master socket (internal), thereby eleiminating your internal wiring. That fixed my disconnects.... still haven't found the culprit kit, but broadband now works a treat

never get disconnected with firmware 1.01.22 with my wag v2 but some issue with dns resolving so i take my chance (again) with 1.01.27 beta
