    Hi - first of all, great forum guys! Haven't been able to nail my specific problem yet but I'm hopeful you can all help.

    I have a WAG54G (v1) on firmware with a few LAN connected PC's and 2 wireless laptop's. Now, my problem has been happening on and off for the last year, but it's just returned in a big way after almost 4 months without symptoms.

    Here is a run down:
    1. both LAN and Wireless clients loose connectivity to the internet at intermitent intervals
    2. connecting to the control panel during these outages is not always possible, with the connection timing out
    3. to repair the issue an ipconfig/renew sometimes works, or a machine re-boot. Or, refreshing the STATUS page if accesible sometimes works
    4. STRANGE - MSN messenger and my company VPN remain active and working during these outages, so I still have net connectivity
    5. Linksys support can't seem to help me, and I have spent a long time on the phone to a poor woman in India trying to resolve. The best she could do was to suggest I alter my MTU size which did not help.

    So does anyone have any ideas? Item 4 seems to be a clue, as it seems both IE and Firefox loose connectivity with the router/internet via the router......yet my company VPN and messenger remain active.

    Thanks in advance for any help offered.

    I also would be interested to get firmware 1.02.9 or newer beta version.
    Where can I download these versions?

    Thanks in advance

    hey there. I'm from Europe, I'm sorry my english, I'll try to gave my best.

    Discovering these forum was just awesome. I also have one linksys WAG54g with the firmware version 1.02.7. Lately I'm experience the same problem as you guys. Connection seems to drop out. Lights continued green on router, but internet connection don't. If I'm logged on MSN it remains online, but if I try to www on my IExplorer, it just gaves me connection time out. It happens few times per week.

    It's possible that firmware upgrade to beta version resolves it?

    ISSUE 2: My PCI network adapter offers me these option to select:
    10BaseT Half Duplex
    10BaseT Full Duplex
    100Base Tx Half Duplex
    100Base Tx Full Duplex

    I've chose the first one, as if I chose the last, router take longer to iniciate (Start)

    Anyone knows what option is more apropiated (likely) and what diferece it makes?

    Regards, and Thanks in Advance
    PS- Linksys WAG54G v1.2 EU

    10base = 10Mbit/s
    100base = 100Mbit/s
    It's the speed of your connection.
    If there are no problems choose the fastest option! :)

    I am new to these forums and have just read aztec's post about the connection dropping but the msn conection still showing connected. This is what is happening to me and is very frustrating.

    Was the issue resolved by upgarding the firmware or does anyone else know a way round this problem?

    Cheers, Jub

    drop-outs on Wifi continue with the WAG54G_AnnexA_ETSI_v1.03.0_beta4_00

    I've been using this firmware for a year now, and it did not resolve any problem for me.
    What did help was putting the MTU rate to 1492 (anything below 1500) (on the modem setting).

    And now our ISP has increased the connection speed from 600KB to 2000 KB, and the WAG54G has stopped altogether.

    Ethernet ports already stopped working one year ago.
    Time for a new modem I think, and it won't be a Linksys
