Hi hopefully someone should be able to answer this quite easily.

I would like to connect my access point to my xbox but does the access point need to be connected to the WAG54G using ethernet cable or can it connect wirelessly to the router?

My router is in my bedroom upstairs and I would like to put the access point downstairs in my living room where my xbox is.

I did this last week and it works fine. You need to set the WAP54G to AP client and log in to your network. With the latest firmware (3.04 US and 3.05 EU) even WAP is supported. The only problem I have is that when I switch off the Xbox and start it up the next day, I need the apply the WAP key again (using my laptop) to get the connection back. I checked wtich Linksys, but thay told me to buy another device because the WAP54G was not designed to be used with an Xbox.
So either you have to leave the Xbox on all night, or live with this shortcoming.
